About Us
Welcome to Natural Horse Magazine©, a subsidiary of Natural Horse Enterprises, a family owned and operated private company. Natural Horse Magazine is a publication FOR the horse, and applies to every breed, discipline, and geographical area.
The idea of creating Natural Horse Magazine started back in the summer of 1996 as a result of the holistic rehabilitation of one of our mares. Prior to this time, she had developed several problems, one of which was a severe reaction to fly bites that traditional treatment could not cure or treat further, so we turned to the alternatives. A visit to a holistic veterinarian's seminar on herbs and homeopathy with his examination of my mare revealed her real problem (immune system derangement from overvaccinating), and through homeopathy her health was restored.
During this experience we learned that the information on holistic alternatives was difficult to find, and not widely publicized. It was obvious that there was a serious need for this information, and in a readily available form. So we took on a big task - collecting and distributing worldwide select natural and holistic care, management, and training information, in the form of Natural Horse Magazine - so others could learn what we learned and more, to make informed decisions about their horses' care. In January of 1999, after more than a year of preparation, we launched our premier issue.
Our focus is on humane and natural alternatives to today's traditional means of horse care, and we feature a wide range of topics in alternative and complementary medicines and therapies as well as wholesome nutrition, cooperative training, natural care and maintenance of the horse and his environment, book and video reviews, special events, a children's section, and more.
We are proud and delighted to be working and cooperating with several prominent, naturally-inclined equine professionals who share our goal of educating horse lovers about natural and better ways FOR the horse.
